Four Plays and a Fifth
Each play is a simple production. All five acts can stand alone and work with a small, youthful cast. They also lend themselves well to short films. Put together as a complete show, it could be either a black box production with minimal cost or it can be expanded. The show can also be reduced, to simply four plays or less. It is a versatile production with lots of spatial and temporal options.
The full play is non-linear, consisting of five separate one acts, which span four years. Two of the plays are actually simultaneous, but the rest are a school year apart. The production starts with T.P., an intense play where a prank goes horribly awry. The final play, Shed, is a concurrent act of attempted vandalism, stealing an outhouse/shed. A Fifth follows four of the cast on a double date when they bring along a fifth person in order to procure a fifth of vodka. Limousine is the most active play, with the full cast sliding in a semitrailer on their way to prom. Cubs Fan, the first chronological play, has the Freshmen characters attempting to meet without convenient conveyance.
